ABOUT ME
I am Dr Ammar AlBalushi
Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Enterprise and Innovation at Majan University College.
My work sits at the intersection of higher education transformation, innovation ecosystems, and industry collaboration. I focus on shaping postgraduate education that is not only academically rigorous, but directly aligned with the evolving needs of the economy and society in Oman and the wider region.
My journey combines industry leadership and academic excellence. Before transitioning fully into academia, I worked in senior roles within the hospitality sector, gaining practical experience in operations, strategy, and organisational transformation. This foundation continues to influence my approach—grounding ideas in execution, and strategy in reality.
In academia, I have led the development of innovative programmes, including initiatives in Business Analytics with Artificial Intelligence and Financial Technology, and played a central role in launching and scaling the MBA Arabic programme. I further led the development of the Executive Doctor of Business Administration (EDBA), establishing the first doctoral-level offering at Majan University College and positioning the institution for advanced postgraduate growth and research leadership.
I am particularly interested in how higher education institutions can evolve to become engines of innovation—supporting entrepreneurship, enhancing employability, and contributing meaningfully to national priorities such as Oman Vision 2040.
Beyond institutional leadership, I engage in thought leadership, speaking, and executive education, exploring themes such as AI in education, strategic transformation, tourism development, and innovation-driven growth.
This platform reflects my work, ideas, and areas of collaboration.
